About Me

I was born in Bangor, at what was then Eastern Maine Medical Center, and raised in Bradley, a small town just outside of Orono. As a toddler, my family purchased a camp on Beech Hill Pond in Otis where we would often reside during the Summer months. Around age nine my family moved from Bradley to our camp while my parents built a new home in Dedham. I would later attend the Dedham School and John Bapst Memorial High School, graduating in 2013.

Though I wasn’t always sure what I wanted to do, I knew I wanted a job where every day would be different. When I expressed my interests to my parents, they asked if I had ever thought about law enforcement. I had admired a few family friends who worked as Maine Game Wardens and Maine State Troopers, and had always respected their line of work. It only took a few ride-alongs- and some encouragement from my parents- for me to realize that was what I wanted to do with my life. After high school, I moved to southern Maine where I would attend Saint Joseph’s College to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. At the conclusion of my sophomore year in 2015, I was hired by the Orono Police Department as a full-time patrol officer.

At just 20 years old, and the youngest in my class, I attended the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro, Maine. Following the 18-week residential academy, I returned to Orono where I completed my field training and began patrolling the streets of Orono. The Orono Police Department offered me great opportunities to learn, grow, and advance my skills. After nearly four years with the Orono Police Department, I made the decision to pursue other opportunities that were not traditionally available to a small municipal agency. Fortunately, in 2018 a position as a patrol deputy opened up with the Hancock County Sheriff’s office. Knowing I wanted to get back home, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office seemed like a perfect fit, allowing me the perfect opportunity to work in the geographic area I grew up in and fell in love with.

Since beginning my time with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office I have held a variety of roles and positions, including serving as a Special Agent for the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency investigating the sale of illicit substances (such as cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl) in Hancock County. Since February of 2024 I have held the rank of Lieutenant, overseeing the daily operations of the Sheriff’s Office including the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division. Additionally, as part of the administration at the Sheriff’s Office I often assist with budget management, grant applications, scheduling, deputy training and oversight, and relationship building with other local, state, and federal agencies. Additionally, I assist with different charity events when possible, provide instruction at different trainings or local educational institutions, and also serve as the Vice President of the Maine All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Grant Board, which manages and disperses the funds for managing Maine’s ATV trails and providing enforcement to ensure the trails are a safe and fun place for all to recreate.

When I am not working or donating my time elsewhere, you can usually find me spending time with my wife, Morgan, and our two sons, Archer and Harrison. Although it looks a little different today than it did 25 to 30 years ago, you can still find me during the Summer months bringing my kids to my family’s residence on Beech Hill Pond in Otis to enjoy the water. During the winter time, I spend my free time ice fishing or skiing at one of the great ski mountains we have in Maine. During early spring, you can find me in the woods spending time with my father and my oldest son, Archer, tapping trees for maple syrup. For me, Hancock County is not just where I work, it is my home, and I love everything it has to offer, from the coast of Stonington to the Studmill Road off of Route 9. It is where I have built my life and where my family continues to plant our roots.
